Violation of Amendment I

What we don't hear about or see in mainstream media - Today on On the Media, I heard a story about reporters who were arrested at the RNC at the beginning of the month. Read about the story or listen to it below.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

Specifics Examples - Just One Maybe?!

"I'll try to find you some and bring them to ya." Sarah Palin Damn. She only met John McCain twice. I would think she would have had note cards to help her out with the hard questions. I mean, geeez, she can't remember all John McCain's accomplishments in the last 26 years. Okay. She should have at least known one - campaign finance reform. I know that much without having to google it.

Wow. She has a lot of homework to do. I wonder if she has gotten her job description yet, too.

"What is it exactly that the VP does every day?! ... We want to make sure the VP slot would be a fruitful type of position."

Can't wait to hear her talk about policy positions, issues and the state of the nation.

I'm Not a Flag Guy

I go through these moments in the neighborhood that I think we need to fly a flag. Our old neighbors always had flags flying for ND, Easter, Christmas, Fourth of July, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Fall, Spring, Cowboys, whatever day.

When it's football season, the flags seem to fly more. The damn Cowboys are flying now. Yesterday it was PSU.

So I threatened Brad that I would draw an Eagles flag so we can fly it for him. "I'm not a flag guy!" I know, I know. But I tend to get caught up in silly things like flags. I'm off to draw an Eagle for my man (I flew my Steelers flag yesterday - yea!)

Stickboy, Bianchi, Tour de Pink

I am here to help out a brother. In 2006, I rode the 3rd annual Tour de Pink (love the picture Britt!!) and met the most amazing people. I have not been able to do the charity ride the last two years yet I hold the Tour de Pink a special place in my heart. Every year I see many of those amazing people and I think we are doing our best to affect change.

Will Mahler has ridden the Tour de Pink the last three years. He is committed on and off the bike. He has helped riders put bikes together, provide expert, mechanical skills and still the ride. We all know way too many women surviving with breast cancer and sadly know many that have lost the battle with the disease, too.

I hope you can consider donating to Will's ride. Peace out.

Time to Unwind

Thanks, Josh for the link. I am trying to expand my alter ego. I am not sure though as my thumb joints still ache from the 24 hr race.

Obama's in Lancaster Again!

Woohoo. Damn it. I had somewhere to be at 7 pm-ish. I started my commute home on my 1968 Schwinn already a half hour late. Halfway home at F&M College, there are people walking everywhere - then I see the guys selling tee-shirts. I follow the crowd. Wait in line. Get out of line and stand on the hill. Wait for a little over an hour to hear the man speak. I could not see Obama as he spoke but that did not matter.

Afterwards, I ran/rode with the crowds to catch a glimpse of him. Pretty awesome. Got to see some cycling friends in and about the crowds, too. I love to connect off the bike, too.

So, yeah. I am late. Debating on driving to Dulles/VA in the wee a.m. Just terrified of the rush hour traffic on the beltways. But I am sooooooo tired and I do not like driving in this state. Oh well. Off to eat, shower and decide. It was worth being spontaneous to hear the man speak.

48 hrs after the 24 hrs

Waaaaaaa! I cannot talk about it. Just glad everyone else had a fabulous time. For me, I think it comes down to the challenge. This time I was not too happy about the experience. The night lap was the best. The Lupine Lights made it fun. I jumped most logs and rode over all the sucky rocks that made me crack on my third lap. I guess that is how it goes when I don't mountain bike but once every four years.

RockStar Jen started us off, Kat-the happy camper was the 4th leg, Marcy-veteran 24hr happy camper-#two rode the 2nd leg and I looked happy but it was before we raced.

The poor 'cuda that needs to retire. That baby did not do so well on the rocks. Okay, maybe it was the rider that did not do so well. My arms are still numb from the ride. At least I do not have any more jiggle in my triceps.

We held Kat (for at least 2 hrs) so we did not have to send another rider out for a fourth lap.

I put my rockstar hilton to use after a nine year hiatus. With an air mattress inside, I was sleeping pretty. Corporate guys and all female Lupine Lights finished 2nd. Boo hoo. The women want to come back to vie for first. They will have to bring it on without me.
